MGT, the first AI-native neo-insurer for small commercial property and casualty, built from the ground up for independent agents, has appointed Garrett Koehn as Senior Advisor to drive strategic distribution expansion and high-ROI AI use cases across the country.

Koehn helped build CRC Group into a leading wholesaler as President of Brokerage, overseeing more than $13 billion in annual premiums, and spearheaded strategic initiatives in international markets and fintech integrations. He also served as Chief Innovation Officer and President of ExecPro during his tenure at CRC Group.
A pioneer in risk modeling, Koehn developed the industry's first D&O liability exposure model for public companies while at Marsh in 1994. A year later, he developed some of the earliest frameworks placing foundational coverage for digital trailblazers such as Yahoo, eBay, and Excite. With over three decades of experience in insurance brokerage, he brings expertise in complex coverage — particularly private equity, cyber, and intellectual property — and has held underwriting authority from A-rated carriers for multiple specialty lines.
Beyond his operational roles, Koehn is a deeply active figure in the global insurtech ecosystem. He serves as a strategic advisor to high-growth insurtech innovators Newfront and Nirvana, mentors startups through the Lloyd's Lab in London, BrokerTech Ventures, and Brown University's Innovation Lab, and serves on the boards of several prominent fintech and insurance capital market firms. He holds an MBA from Brown University and IE Business School, and a Fintech Certificate from MIT.
