This policy is Addendum 2 to the MGT Privacy Policy.
This policy explains how MGT handles information when you use MGT Quoting, our app for ChatGPT and our connector for Claude (together, the "Plugin"). The rest of MGT's Privacy Statement also applies to the Plugin. If this policy conflicts with MGT's Privacy Statement, this policy controls for the Plugin.
Who Can Use the Plugin
The Plugin is for insurance agents and brokers who sign in with an MGT account. You connect it from ChatGPT or Claude, and you sign in through MGT's secure login page. MGT does not receive your ChatGPT or Claude password.
Information the Plugin Receives
The Plugin receives only the information that ChatGPT or Claude sends when it uses a Plugin tool on your behalf:
- Account information: the email address of your MGT account, which we use to identify you and your agency.
- Business information: details about the business you are quoting, such as a description of its operations, its business name, its business address and state, its industry classification, revenue, and answers to underwriting questions.
- Quote information: the coverages, limits, loss history, and other choices you enter, and any changes you make to a quote.
- Information about people named on a quote: names, addresses, and loan numbers of additional insureds, mortgagees, loss payees, and similar parties.
The Plugin does not receive your chat history, other conversation content, or files you upload to ChatGPT or Claude. It receives only the details necessary to complete the quote that ChatGPT or Claude passes to a Plugin tool, which can include information it takes from your messages or files. The Plugin does not ask for Social Security numbers, tax identification numbers, or payment information.
Information the Plugin Returns
The Plugin returns results to ChatGPT or Claude so that they can show them to you: appetite results (whether a business is eligible for MGT coverage), suggested industry classifications, quote numbers and quote details, validation messages, and the list of questions a quote requires.
How We Use This Information
- Account information: to verify your identity, link quotes to you and your agency, control access, and support you.
- Business and quote information: to check appetite, classify the business, and create, edit, rate, and validate quotes. When you continue to review or bind a quote, you do so in MGT's web portal, and the quote you created through the Plugin is available there.
- Underwriting checks: to order business and property reports about the businesses named on a quote, as is standard in insurance underwriting.
- Appetite-check records: we keep each appetite check, including the business address and its approximate location, so we can show results and meet record-keeping obligations.
- Logs: we keep a record of each Plugin request and result, including your MGT email address and the business, quote, and named-party details it contains, to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Plugin, and to measure how it performs. In these logs, loan numbers are masked. We keep these logs for up to 90 days.
We do not sell information received through the Plugin. We do not use it to train AI models.
Who Receives This Information
- MGT and our affiliates, to provide quotes and insurance services.
- Service providers that act on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, including providers of policy administration, hosting and databases, logging and monitoring, AI models we use to classify businesses, and mapping and address-verification providers, which receive business addresses to confirm and locate them.
- Data and report providers, which receive details from the quote to add information to it. They receive the business's name and location for property, risk, and business data.
- ChatGPT (OpenAI) or Claude (Anthropic), which receive the results the Plugin returns. OpenAI's and Anthropic's privacy policies govern how they handle your conversations, including those results.
How Long We Keep This Information
- Quote records, including business information and information about people named on a quote: for as long as needed to provide quotes and insurance services, and for as long as insurance laws and regulations require us to keep insurance records. Depending on the state and the insurance product's rules and regulations, this ranges from three to seven years.
- Tool-request logs: up to 90 days. We use them to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Plugin, and to measure how it performs.
- Account information: for as long as your MGT account is active, and afterward for as long as needed to meet our legal, regulatory, and record-keeping obligations. Depending on the state and the insurance product's rules and regulations, this ranges from three to seven years.
- Appetite-check records: for as long as needed to provide and improve our quoting services and to meet our record-keeping obligations. Depending on the state and the insurance product's rules and regulations, this ranges from three to seven years.
When we no longer need information for these purposes, we delete it or anonymize it.
Your Choices and Controls
- Access, correction, and deletion: To ask for a copy of, correct, or delete information received through the Plugin, contact us at support@mgtinsurance.com. We handle these requests as described in MGT's Privacy Statement and Addendum 1. You can also edit quotes in MGT's web portal.
- Disconnecting: You can disconnect the Plugin at any time in ChatGPT or Claude settings. After you disconnect, ChatGPT or Claude stops sending information to the Plugin. Disconnecting does not close your MGT account or remove your access to MGT's web portal, and it does not delete quotes or records already created. To have them deleted, send a deletion request.
- Records we must keep: We may keep some records, such as quotes and records about issued policies, when insurance laws or regulations require it, or to resolve disputes and prevent fraud. Depending on the state and the insurance product's rules and regulations, we keep these records for three to seven years, and then we delete or anonymize them.
